Be Careful Little Hands What You Do

Be careful little hands what you do.”
“Be careful little feet where you go.”
“Be careful little eyes what you see.”

When I was a child we used to sing a song something like this in Sunday School.  The idea of the song was that we are responsible for our actions and that we needed to “guard” our actions,  we needed to be “careful” of our actions so that what we DO, where we GO and what we SEE, is good for us and not the other way around.

So, from time to time it’s good to stand back and look at what it is that occupies our time.  Where are we placing our energy?  What are we spending our money on?  Are we to busy or are we not busy enough.  What kinds of things are we watching on TV or the movies?  Are our priorities correct?  Do we read our Bibles enough?  Are we faithful in worship?

The list can be as long and in depth as you are willing to make it.

Now, please understand that I make not judgments here. It’s possible that you are “Doing, Going and Seeing” exactly the right things all of the time.  And if you are, awesome!!  But for the rest of us it doesn’t hurt, and we may find it extremely helpful, to at least give the idea some consideration.

James 1:5 says, “If any of you lacks wisdom, he should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to him.”

Be wise, be careful and take it from one who knows.  There is all kinds of stuff  “out there” that we need to be careful of.
